CHANGING MY LIFE IN 28 DAYS – PART 3
We’ve now reached the third week of my journey. I did well this week, sticking to my commitments and getting my workouts done. My skill for the week was to create a song with Bas, one of the other exchange students. Since we both have a background in music, we decided to create beats for each other and then write lyrics to each others beats. However, this turned out to be more challenging than we initially thought, especially under time pressure.
The final result didn’t sound quite as polished as we had hoped. For my adventure, I visited a Christmas market in Austria to try something new. However, the trip ended up being less exciting than expected, as we mostly drank hot cocoa and ate fries.

Self-Reflection
This video ended up being quite fun, but I think it focused too much on creating the song, which detracted from the main theme of changing my life. Better planning would have helped since we finished our songs quite late. At the end of the video, I included a reflection where I talked about losing motivation and struggling to move forward. I think this added a valuable layer to the video, showing that the journey isn’t always easy.
Challenges
I had planned to go ice skating, but the weather was too warm for it. When I tried to finish with a nice drone shot of the beautiful sky, my drone ran out of battery (another reminder of the importance of preparation). Visiting the Austrian market was also underwhelming, as I had expected to explore more of the city. Instead, the others mostly drank hot wine, and not much else happened.
What I Learned
I learned to film more personal moments, even when it wasn’t always enjoyable. I also experimented with new techniques, such as filming in Apple Log to allow for color correction and grading, which gave the footage a more cinematic look. Although it was a challenge, I was pleased with the final aesthetic, even if it wasn’t perfect. It’s definitely a step forward in improving my video quality.
