Digital Camera User Interface

Bachelor Thesis: Digital Camera User Interface, Transforming Camera Interfaces for Gen Z

«How to provide a simplified and innovative interface to Gen Z camera users while maintaining a complete user experience with camera settings and features?» The study focuses on understanding what makes an interface more effective and appealing to students. By conducting surveys and experiments with students between the ages of 20 and 27, the research gathers information about their preferences and difficulties encountered with current camera interfaces. The thesis identifies key elements that contribute to a well-designed interface: consistency, touch-based interactions, real-time feedback, and more structured settings menus. In the practical project this is put into practice. A simplified, more intuitive, and unified universal camera interface that aligns with the smartphone experience. This redesign produced and used on actual cameras aims to reduce the learning curve for digital cameras by making them easier to use, potentially bringing an interest to this market.
