The given task was to create a high-density housing neighborhood on the site of the former chemical plant in Uetikon am See. It lies directly along the lakefront of the Zürichsee. ThThe developed urban settlement is intended to become a dense and diverse conglomeration, which encourages a wide range of different shared living communities and a large variety of agegroups. The main aim was to support communal living and social exchange, whilst bringing an urban and lively character to Uetikon am See. A volumetry alowing for different degrees of public and private areas create a space, which is attractive for the new residents as well as for the local inhabitans. The main material used is local to the area, letting the industrial past become a part of the new chapter which stands for openness and community.
